By company size
Smaller targets still answer email. Enterprise is now a relationship game.
| Segment | Reply rate | Meeting rate | What works best |
|---|---|---|---|
| SMB (1-99 employees) | 2.1% | 0.34% | Founder-led, ≤4 step sequences |
| Mid-market (100-999) | 1.4% | 0.21% | Warm-path intros + intent triggers |
| Enterprise (1000+) | 0.8% | 0.11% | Multi-threaded ABM, hand-crafted top-of-sequence |
By channel mix
Adding LinkedIn to email is the single highest-ROI change a team can make this year. Adding a warm intro is in a different universe.
| Channel mix | Reply rate | Meeting rate |
|---|---|---|
| Cold email only | 1.4% | 0.18% |
| Cold email + LinkedIn connect | 3.2% | 0.41% |
| Cold email + LinkedIn message + voice note | 4.8% | 0.62% |
| Warm intro (any channel) | 27.0% | 9.8% |
Five things that changed in 2026
- AI saturation crossed the trust line. 62% of replies are now AI-generated without human review. Buyers can tell, and reply rates dropped 33% YoY because of it.
- Warm intros became measurable. Relationship intelligence tooling made it possible to find and request warm paths at scale, not just for whale accounts.
- LinkedIn is no longer optional. Sequences that include a LinkedIn touch outperform email-only by 3.4x on reply.
- Sequence length keeps growing. Median sequences are 11 steps. Past 14, returns go negative and you train people to ignore you.
- Anonymous web visitors became the cheapest intent signal. First-party visitor identification beats third-party intent on both freshness and conversion.
Methodology
Aggregated and anonymized data from 480 B2B teams using KnowledgeNet.ai and partner workflows between September 2025 and March 2026. 2.1 million outbound touches across email, LinkedIn and voice note. Segments balanced for industry (SaaS, services, manufacturing, finance) and region (US, Canada, UK, EU). Reply and meeting rates calculated per-account, not per-send, to avoid inflation from heavy senders.
Definitions follow standard SaaS outbound conventions: a reply is any human response that is not an out-of-office or bounce; a meeting is a calendar event booked within 14 days of the last sequence touch.
